New Books Reviews: The New Public Health, Smart Urban Mobility, Sustainable Mass Transit, and the Oceans and Human Health, published by Elsevier

The New Public Health, 4h edition, by Theodore H. Tulchinsky, Elena A. Varavikova, Matan J. Cohen published by the AP (Elsevier) in 2023. This book discusses the immunization of majority of a population, up to 95% (“for highly infectious diseases”). It states that the immunization coverage in a community must be monitored to gauge the extent of protection and that the program modification is needed to achieve the targets of disease control. This account explores the “public health interventions in the form of vaccination saving millions of lives each year…”. The authors of this book belong to those who are sure that “…Successful methods for the Covid-19 virus have opened new vistas in vaccinology that should enhance improvements in public health in coming decades.” But how about our immune system we born with, that has an ability to fix all issues the natural way, without any medications? Physical exercises, fruit and veggies, drinking a lot of water, good sleep and positivity can make a miracle. So let’s not forget about this option! This book also discusses the history of public health, the Global environmental issues, the rapid population growth in poorest countries, the high level of energy consumption and low rates of population growth in industrialized countries, economic of health, human resources, and much, much more (https://educate.elsevier.com/book/details/9780128229576).
